Mary Paris is a licensed, certified, clinical social worker (LCSW-C) in Maryland and in Pennsylvania. She provides therapy for adults (ages 18+) who are seeking help with situational, chronic, serious mental illness, substance abuse, overeating and binge eating, and relationship issues. She provides help through individual, and group treatment modalities.
Mary enjoys nature, gardening, and spending time with friends and family. She finds that these things provide peace and renewed energy enabling her to continue her mission to help her clients.
Education and Counseling Philosophy
Mary earned her master's degree in social work from Shippensburg University. She has also spent many hours of training in the treatment of substance abuse, and serious mental illness. She believes that given the tools, people are able to heal themselves; she aims to foster a collaborative relationship based on trust, respect, and a desire to make changes to create a productive, healthy lifestyle. Mary works with each client in a compassionate, non-judgmental and personalized manner to meet client needs. She believes that healthy habits, mindfulness and a whole-hearted approach are the bedrock of mind body wellness.
Mary has solid and lengthy experience in the clinical outpatient environment working intensively in the treatment of substance abuse, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and eating disorders.
